View Full Version : iDrive/Bluetooth Problem With My New M6 Rattlebox
I have had my first problem with the M6 (excluding the tweaked ash tray cover). My Bluetooth phone is not being recognized by the iDrive, although the phone thinks it is on "headset" status. So, in order to talk on it I have to back out of Bluetooth on the iDrive. When the phone (RAZR - T-Mobile) was connected I was once able to pull off the CTRL ALT DEL trick and when iDrive "re-booted" the phone interfaced. But not any more.
Do you know what the problem might be? Is there (was there) a SIB out on this one? My car was manufactured in November 2006 and imported the first of 2007. I suspect its PROGMAN was downloaded then, so that might tell you what version I have.
Any help you can provide would be greatly appreciated.

This is as close to your symptom I can find.
Didn't I see you say on our OLD KOTR forum, you had another bluetooth phone. That may have caused confusion if both were trying to pair.

SITUATION
After updating the vehicle with Progman, the customer's compatible Bluetooth enabled handset no longer pairs to the vehicle.
An approved handset no longer connects to the vehicle.
CAUSE
Pairing conflict, for example:
During a programming update, the Bluetooth device list was corrupted. When the handset was paired to the vehicle again a duplicate Bluetooth address (IP address) for the Bluetooth device may have been stored in the vehicle or in the handset.
An attempt was made to pair a non-compatible handset to the vehicle which is now preventing a compatible handset from being paired to the vehicle.
The customer was in an area of high external interference that prevented their Bluetooth device form automatically connecting to the vehicle. Because of this, the customer attempted to re-pair their handset to the vehicle and in doing so, created a conflict.

Yup. That explains it. So I need to turn the BT off on the T-Mobile Dash (T-Mobile's proprietary Blackberry-like device). I forgot to menton in my post here that I had 2 BT phones going at once.
As for the inability to post attachments, we need to ask the Bear to enable that for us. It is obviously needed, especially here.

Well I had it a few hours ago else how would I have posted my pics in the Intro section. Hmmmm....

It's permitted in some sections and not in others. This is one of the most important sections for posting attachments.

Yep, just saw that same thing. I would think nearly every section needs that capability.
