Down in Florida and saw an exact replica of BoxBoss' 645, then saw a beautiful burgundy 650 coupe.
Also did my first full Launch Control on one of the straightaways down here. Unfortunately, the Dynolicious didn't get the data. The error was narrowed down to some where between the passenger seat and the glove box, but I would guess 0-60 was around 5 seconds.

:woot: Remember...Dynolicious doesn't work past MACH 1

Wait, explain your thoughts on launch control, as we don't actually get that feature in the US...are you saying you went WOT off the line? Did u take it past 8K?? U should not have needed to get out of second, and 5sec sounds a bit slow!!!! :electric:

Go to full M mode - S6, DSC off, P500Sport.
Push shift lever forward as if down shifting from 1st.
Floor it. If RPMs climb over 2k, start over.
Release stick, and off you go.
It's not as good as Euro spec, but better than WOT off the line.

OK, but what RPM SHOULD they go to? How do you know when to let go of the stick? I am sure this is trackable by BMW. What does this do to your warrantee? Does BMW pull a "GT-R" on your ass if you use this?

It holds the RPMs at around 1500, even with throttle all the way down. Release the stick when you're ready to go and keep the throttle wide open. I RTFM and it says it won't let you do it again until the clutch cools down.
No idea about warranty. I read my lease and didn't see anything about not doing it. Have not heard about it voiding warranty, either. Then again, my hearing...

I haven't tried launch control yet. The cars here in Oz have the real LC (but then again, we do have all 10 Individual cyclinders too).
But last night, I drove through a short tunnel near home: P500, downshifted from 3rd to 2nd at about 5,000rpm, then hit the throttle not even flooring it, and took her up for the first time to about 7,000rpm for about 4 seconds coming out of the tunnel. My goodness the sound of the blip and then the V10 engine in that tunnel, it was pure exhilaration!

Don't you get tremendous wheel spin and loss of traction with DSC off? Wouldn't your 0-60 times be better without that spin?

Release the stick when you're ready to go and keep the throttle wide open.
And then do I shift as normal, or does it shift for me?
I might have to try that!

I would assume launch control limits wheel spin to a minimal amount.

You get a minimal amount of spin; I am under the impression that launch control will very consistently get you the fastest available 0-60 times.
I left the throttle floored until about 6k in 3rd gear; it was over almost before you could blink. Shift normally right at the redline - that's the only manual effort that should vary 0-60 times. If you do it right, it feels like a hammer shift.
Obviously it's probably not a good idea to do this all the time, but I haven't noticed any issues since. Make sure the engine is warmed up, and find a nice deserted spot to try it.

And as our state gov is putting more and more in because it's flat broke:ball: Those tunnels are littered with them, The flash for cash will be on in earnest, as if it's not all ready:ball:
