We'll try that when we meet up. I think LC controls wheelspin and throttle until you reach a certain speed, then it's back in total driver control.
Right. One with each setting off the line. I'm guessing, as you are, that the computer controls wheel spin and throttle off the line and then it's up to the driver after that.

Launch Control sounds fun.
However, per the M6board Drag Racing expert:
Is that with the MT or SMG?

I didn't know that part. I just floored it and in all the excitement...forgot to shift to 2nd.
The HUD started flashing red at me, and I think I heard, "WARNING WILL ROBINSON...WARNING" coming out of the left rear speaker.
I thought I broke something, so I backed off and ate some chocolate...then I was fine.

Well, if there is a manual clutch involved...it must be the MT.

Ummm, guys. The SMG does have a clutch. It's computer controlled.
Apparently if you blip the throttle or punch it hard off the line, the revs climb just prior to the computer releasing the clutch, allowing for a higher RPM launch.
Boss, didn't the Performance Center go over some of this???? The guys there I rode with could launch the SMG cars quite hard without launch control.

Yup, but I was referring to a MANUAL clutch in my post. (see above)

Yeah, I know. But I'm pretty sure the m6board member has SMG.

Likewise! No launch control and we were off in a flash...neck snapping "hammer" shifts.
I too, was referring to the MT regarding "dumping the clutch." I'm not quite sure how you can do that with the SMG aside from the computer doing it in LC? :dunno:
