Greetings from Germany,

Is it sad that I came here just to see BMW? Well I did, and it was worth it. I have 478 pictures about 1.6 GB (and I accidently switched from superfine to fine quality during the shoot (which I am upset about) so it could have been more). A small sample of my pictures will be gracing the forums in a little bit.

So, it seems that BMW has removed the amber reflector from the area around the front wheel on the 6er and put it in the top of the headlight, or is that just a USA thing???

Yup, if I remember correctly we had a member who was from Sweden who had the clear markers from the dealership.

But I am not seeing ANY markers in these photos; clear or otherwise.

Reflector marker lights are generally a US market thing. It's the same thing with VW's. That's why some lights are DOT approved and some of the euro lights are not.

ie, New Beetles in Europe don't have those rear side markers that you have in clear and I shaved off.

Good point. My understanding is that to be US DOT legal the car must have yellow reflective material on the corners. a yellow bulb is not enough. :thumb:

I believe that it is supposed to be red in the rear and yellow up front. But a bulb is sufficient on the front, but I don't think it is on the back. Not entirely sure.

That's right....red reflective in the back. I thought there had to be yellow reflective in the front corners tho...visable from the front and the side...or one from the front and one from the side....or something...

No.

(1) Clear indicator plastics are a ROW/ex-USA thing.

(2) However, the refreshed 6er has LED lights as the indicator (made up of groups of four tiny LEDs) which the corner group lights up as part of the surround lights. This is what you see in the photo. I have that in my M6 too (and we have clear indicator plastics). It's an aesthetics thing I guess. See my M6's below.

i love it. i sat inside it and took some shots, and it really is a great car. the inside feels a lot more luxurious. the cars lines really stand out when you look at it. it is pleasing to the eye and really has a presence.

i head back to london tomorrow and then back to the states in 12 days!!!

Have a safe trip. Wonder along Mayfair in London. A few small showrooms there, including BMW and Aston Martin.
