$7mm?? I can't see how they can do the R&D and software work they do on annual revenues of $7mm. I'm pretty shocked by that figure.

I went back and read it again... I was wrong. $9M last year, $7M first six months this year. That's impressive growth, but still much lower than I would've thought, and makes me wonder if it wasn't "positioned" from a financial standpoint. I haven't seen many examples of a privately held company that age bumping up revenue 50%+ under the same management. Maybe he's hired an ops guy that's pushing the growth so Steve can focus on what he does best... It's what I'd do in his shoes.

:stupid: And I still can't see the R&D work even on those numbers.

I heard the only Dinan mods approved for BMW engines are for the non-turbos.
BMW has not approved any aftermarket mods for their turbo engines and will void warranties. If BMW is going to be using more turbos, how will Dinan survive?

I've seen several cars for sale at BMW dealers that are Dinan S or S1 packages on the 335s. They may not have S3 (boosted - I believe they've all be supercharged) options, but they already offer an S2 for the 335. Larger intercooler, chip that increases boost, but they leave the turbo stock and I don't see anything on the intake/exhaust except "improved ducting for air flow". Typical suspension upgrades and larger oil capacity/cooler. Typically the S2 packages had the exhaust mods, iirc, so they make operate under tighter restrictions on turbo cars. I'm just surprised they can up the boost on the stock turbo... 398HP/429lb-ft... How does that compare to an M3?

More headaches for O2 sensors, emissions, check engine lights, etc.
Any lights that show up require you to take the car to Dinan, not BMW. Dinan, will have the car sent to BMW expecially if iDrive/Progman update is required. Sounds like a real hassle.

I think that's some of the things Dinan's EMS reprogramming takes care of.

I'm not a Dinan expert, but I'm under the impression that BMW honors the warranty - period. If I had a Dinan 335 with any issues, I'd expect any BMW shop to repair it as they would a regular BMW. My preference (and practice) has been to take the car to an independent Dinan dealer locally. They've always treated me fairly. I wouldn't want an inexperienced dealer mucking up the works.
