BMW 6 Series Edition Sport Announced

BMW have released first details of 'Edition Sport', a new sports package for 6 Series model ranges. Edition Sport delivers enhanced driving dynamics, while styling is suitably sharpened for greater street presence.

Heightened aggression in the styling stakes comes courtesy of a new contoured hood and bespoke 19-inch alloy wheels, while two paintjobs all-new to the 6-Series - Imola Red and Carbon Black - add flair and exclusivity to the package. A brushed aluminium interior enhances the spec sheet, while 650i customers benefit from the aural pleasure and improved engine performance of a Sports exhaust.

Beneath the tougher exterior and a marginly toughened 6-Series lies: an M anti-roll stabilisation system improves handling and includes stiffened axles at the front by 10 percent and by 30 percent at the rear.

Prices start at £53,445 for the BMW 630i Edition Sport Coupé, with Edition Sport models carrying a £1500-2000 premium over standard Sport models.

Purty... but it's begging to be lowered in the front, me thinks.

I would guess this is an UK announcement and somewhat related to this post: http://bimmerdrivers.com/forum/showpost.php?p=39727&postcount=64

d'oh!!

Bingo!

It's interesting. They list the hood as "new" but it looks just like the one on the Neiman Marcus Edition

And why the "M" steering wheel? They really need to do something with those side mirrors too.

I read an online version of this post's info (there are slightly different ones) as it said the new "Edition Sport" does include the M steering wheel and different mirrors.
