X2 Rumors

According to the guys at LeftLaneNews, many rumors began appearing in the German press this week, with Autobild Allrad reporting the story of a BMW X2 being considered as a production model.

With the upcoming BMW X1 launch just around the corner, I was expected to see more rumors on other BMW models. If the BMW PAS might have its place in the BMW lineup, the need of an X2 is not justified.

I am convinced that the market segment between the X1 and all the way up to the X6 is pretty much covered. But, let’s give in into those rumors and assume that an X2 is coming down the road.

Take a look at the rendering and tell me what you think. Btw, the artists did a good job, I’m not saying the concept does not have potential, but there is no room for such car.

I doubt there will be an X2, or if there is something labelled as an X2, it will be based entirely on the X1, just like the 1 series coupe and convertible could effectively be the 2 series.

The X1 is supposed to be a little brother to the X3/X5 - SUV "type" cars. What would BMW call a small version of the X6 SAC? It can't be an X3 or an X1 - those names are taken. IF BMW were to make a small version of the X6, then I guess it would have to be called an X2. Conversely, if BMW makes an X2 is has to be a small X6 - how could you slot another SAV between the X1 and X3?

I agree. I just don't see a market for it and don't see it able to fit in between the X1 & X3.

The way of the little cool SUV, SAV, SAC and I put this in larger font for a reason... The X1 and soon 2 Series then X2 is real.

The X3 will remain an adult purpose SAV whereas the SACs will become the popular status for the younger Gen. You don't believe? Stay tuned...:bravo:
