I put in a quart of Mobil 1 5w-30 synthetic for $6....BTW the check oil light has not turned off:ball:
I may have been remiss about the LL spec. Since you have an '03 5er, it's probably an E39 which does not specify LL oil to maintain warranty whereas the E60 does.
Of course, you can't go wrong using the Mobile 1 0W-40 LL-01, but it may be overkill on an E39. I used non-LL Mobile 1 5W-30 on my E39 which, at the time it was sold with 200k mi on the clock, burned no oil between 10k mi changes.

Just good info...one of the independents I called uses a Valvoline 5w-40...and 7500mi oil change recommendation, his price was $85
But he wants $100 to diagnosis and does not role this into the repair price...so he will be $175 before does any repairs:shitfan:
