Robert Kubica driving his Formula 1 car on public roads
BMW's number one driver, Robert Kubica was invited by the people of Ravenna, a city in Northern Italy, to receive the Lorenzo Baldini award for his exceptional accomplishments. The city of Brisighella had the pleasant surprise to see their favorite F1 driver riding in his own monopost on the public roads.
Kubica decided to go all the way and he drove his car along a 15 mile route, while he has been acclaimed by the people surrounding him. His monopost's height was set a higher level to overcome the bumpy roads, different from the smooth F1 racing tracks and the road was cleared of traffic with the help of an official cars convoy.
He didn't break the law though, so his speed was within the legal limits, up to 60 mph
If you have a few minutes, watch the videos, you will enjoy them.
