One question ..how is it ok to talk about age as an issue..seems very political incorrect(just as race has no place)

As a physician, 72 is not old if you have reasonable health, there is a great chance on 100..all you have to do is sit my clinic, there are lot of well educated very sharp 70 yo...many into their 80s now

Also, note 9% described Obama as dishonest....(McCain 4% described him as dishonest)

OK then, 91% seem to disagree with Bear's thesis:woot:

Can't imagine what Bush/Chaney numbers are:greenlaff:

Actually, IMO all politicians are inherently dishonest, or they wouldn't pander enough to the electorate to hold office. Need I remind anyone of the hatchet job done on Mac in 2000? He was my fave back then...just in case you thought I was a disciple of the luney left:greenlaff:These days I find it hard to get by his buying into the WMD/911 bs that got into the predictable mess of Iraq. Although I do note that he was one of the early voices--at least among republicans--to call for booting Rumsfeld.

They are ALL evil. Mac seems to be the lesser of all evil.

I prefer the word dishonest, but yes, Mac is one of the best in this regard.

What it comes down to is issues, with Iraq being most important for me. IMO Mac at least got part B right, ie, part A was should we go in the first place, while part B is how to best prosecute the war given the decision to invade. Needless to say, on part B I was of the Mac/Powel/Shinseki school, not the Rumsfeld/Wolfowitz/Franks school. I believe that miscalculation on both parts has had devastating consequences for the US.

I agree, but I look at that as the past, and i want to get on with things so to speak.

I guess I just TRUST Mac more based on what I have seen of them both thus far.

Obama is like the new manager at the Burger King. He's trying ANYTHING to come up with jobs/changes/improvements to make him look good to the new boss. Mac has nothing to prove...he's been around the block, and doesn't have to fabricate impressionable scenarios.

That has nothing to do with it.

One guy is young and the other guy is not quite as young. I guess that's how the centenarian (me) sees it.

:old:

But since California is not a purple state, it makes not a whit of difference. Indeed -- do we have anyone from a purple state out there? You're the guys who count.

I'm from a newly dyed purple state.

Georgia has been firmly red for years, but there's a chance Obama can win this state.

Three main factors going for him down here:
10% college age voters
30% black voters
McCain will lose votes to Libertarian Bob Barr (Former U.S. Rep from suburban Atlanta)

I don't think Barr will take many votes unless it's clear that McCain is headed toward national defeat.

Fact: Obama got 700k votes during the primary - Huckabee 326k, McCain 303k and Romney 290k.

Georgia is definitely Purple.

Obama...is now pushing to the center...more BS(yup he is honest on his stance ..its changing daily..maybe a bit more rational, but I would never believe him now. he has not justified his move openly other than for votes)

Consider the source too. It's from the Christian Science Monitor. Not exactly the most unbiased of sources.

I'm not saying it's untrue, but it certainly has a slant.
