The enthusiasts (unlike D!Tailed) at "WorldCarFans" reported that the so rumored BMW X7 might actually become reality in the near future. The X7 was rumored a while ago to become a direct competitor to the Mercedes-Benz GL and the Lexus LX.

Speaking with some friends close to BMW, they learned that the BMW X7 project was abandoned and there are no plans for such a car in the near future. And I agree with them, at this point, we do not see an open market for this type of car, a large SAV, as the current X5 is well situated somewhere between the mid end and top end SUVs. Unless of course Mal needs a getaway car from all the friends he has made on the forums lately.

Hmmm...Interesting.
I would certainly be interested in reading more about this...maybe some more renderings?

I'll be surprised if BMW uses the 7's platform for a SUV. That platform is too big for one but more suitable for intercontinental cruisers, like my 865CSi and the baby Rolls.

Why wouldn't :bmw: use a solid framework to base its allegedly build of the X7.

Now we're speculating why BMW won't use a fictitious base to build its fictitious SAV?
