I was on a retreat this weekend at Nantahala, probably 30-45mins from the Tail of the Dragon, and I didn't go.

The reason this is in Perf Upgrades is the comments I got from my buddies on the car and the exhaust in particular this weekend. Hopefully, a good friend in this group will trade his C55 for a 650 or M6 before Fall and try to keep up with us then... It's a remote possibility, but he really seems to like the 6er. We all have to get back to Atlanta this evening, or he would've taken my car down NC28 to get a feel for the curves. Great trip up, I'm heading back now.

:biggun: You really should have! One way to get your friend to upgrade to a 6er would have been to take him to the ToD and show him what it can do. :race:

Put the pressure on him...he have a few spare rooms available.

Don't be too hard on yourself. On a daily basis Spyder and I are within a mile or so of the west coast version of the ToD (Mulholland Highway to the Pacific Ocean) and we usually don't take it. Of course, if you had to navigate Spyder's driveway :scared: you wouldn't want much more excitement for the day.

Yes, I did notice that you parked down by the dumpster. At least the moat was dry:fishing:

AH! Fond memories of being thrown out of a raft on the Nantahala here. Damn that water was cold!

It's still cold. Very, very cold. I felt I was living a beer commercial, and I hate beer. Fond memories nonetheless.

I stayed at the Nantahala Village last year for a TOD meet. Any chance you were there? I doubt it, cuz they didn't have Internet. :wow: Pretty nice place for being in the middle of nowhere by where 74 and 28 cross.

That was the place. I was using a datacard - don't think they have open wireless, but I did see an antenna on the roof. New owners just took it over and checkin was a pain since they only had one computer running - their network and outside comms except phones were down. New T1 is to be installed on Monday - that's what they said, anyway.
