My '04 645 is coming close to the 50K mark. I have purchased extended maintenance but prefer to address any issues that "present themselves" before expiration under the original factory warranty.

I'd like feedback on the most common problems with the 6-Series so that I know what to look for as the warranty deadline approaches.

Any tips on "symptoms" to look for are greatly appreciated.

Cheers and thanks.

I wish I could help. I think Cobradav will probably have a 6er with mileage closest to your's so he would be in the best position, both mileage and technical knowledge, to help.

I suspect one of the first things to go is the ARS system - or, I should say, the sensors in the system. I didn't have any problems on our first trip to the ToD - I don't recall anyone having them. The last two trips, I've gotten warnings which turned out to be the ARS sensors. Not just me, but CD had them and maybe Richard in NC as well. CD's 6er is the oldest, mine next and then Richard's ex-6er. CD and I are both around the 3 year mark in ownership. Anecdotal for sure, but perhaps?

It's either age or the :race: stress we put on the system.

:stupid: However, I think that we all would like to see some :fotosign: of your 6er please. ;-)

Everything went wrong on my 650i, so I can be of no help. Sorry. Cobradav will know.

There was an Active Steering recall at one stage. No sure if that affected your car or not, assuming you have Active Steering.
