Just got in from teaching my oldest son how to drive a manual. We used the Roadster (1998 M Roadster with an S3 Dinan package) and he did a great job. Hell of a car for a kid to learn on, but he's a natural. Has the proper respect for what the car will do, and I get the sense he REALLY doesn't want to drive that car unless he's in an open parking lot. He and I had a blast, as I'm sure you guys can imagine. This is an afternoon I'll never forget.

That's some awesome father/son quality time. I hope (one day) three (3) of you can make it to ToD, as a happy Dinan family.

I remember the first day out when I taught my son a stick... :scared:

He eventually caught on and has been driving manuals ever since.

I went back..love a stick but sucks in traffic

I am eager to see how the DCT will work....I like the idea of a manual at times and most often like the idea of an auto
The sport tranny is nice but the lack of true shifting is still really odd..feels corny...

will the DCT work like a true manual with respect to the shift throws(but no third pedal)..and have a true auto mode???

I drive about 60 ml each way, everyday in heavy traffic and I enjoy every minute of it. I had a 7er while my right shoulder was broken badly and couldn't wait until I could drive stick again. :race:
