View Full Version : Why Didn't BMW Loan Me an H7 to Real World Test?
Gman has slapped me silly with his driving gloves on the "Improved" Trunklid Design Part Deux thread. viewtopic.php?f=11&t=922&p=15455#p15455 (http://knightsoftheroundel.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=11&t=922&p=15455#p15455)
So, in keeping with his request I start a new thread, here it is.
Why didn't BMW loan me, one of its very best and most discerning customers, an H7 to test drive for it in the real world? I drive my BMWs over 20,000 miles a year, in all kinds of weather, and in all terrains. I am even very close to a very large repository of hydrogen. Indeed, I can almost see it out my door. (It is bluish green. Sometimes there are white caps on it.)
I note that Jay Leno got one. But he's got 43 cars and won't give it a good testing. I don't kjnow who else got one, but I am going to have to have a heart-to-heart with Norbie and Chris. Does anyone know how I can reach them?
I also have put up a poll. You may vote for up to 3 choices, but your comments here will be even more scintillating. :shake:
Reason # 1: Jay Leno has media popularity.
Reason # 2: BMW Marketing felt for Cali, Jay Leno represents automotive's best combo.
Reason # 3: ...The rest I will leave up to your imagination.

Probably b/c they didn't want their new flagship typecast as a geriatric geezer-mobile. I'm just guessing.
Lord Pomposity, I think you are not famous enough, but more importantly I suspect it is because BMW does not want to tempt you into hyndrogen liquid powered cars just yet, as BMW does not intend to power the rest of the fleet using liquid hydrogen (which are cars that you buy, but not the 7).
Not sure. Maybe the powers higher up can clarify.

Thank you 650iOzBoy for your insightful speculation. You are indeed correct. However, I have recently received word from a particular esteemed BMW stockholder that this may soon be changed. Member Malibubimmer may well receive the Hydrogen 7 vehicle, although we may not supply him with any hydrogen fuel. There was no stipulation that hydrogen fuel was to be supplied, and so member Malibubimmer will simply be driving the Hydrogen 7 using petrol.
(Why is he called Lord Pomposity? Is it because he wants to drive a Hydrogen 7? Let me reserve that title for him when he orders our new flagship four door coupe due out in a few years).
I'll play. While posting from my iPhone, I have owned plenty of the flagships since 2000, check the record. LOL though..., I am interested in the testing the CS, PAS, or your forth coming Z10 in the grand scape of NJ/NY.
So, what do you say..?

Let me just tell you how disappointed I am. In fact, Merxedes Benz (the "competition," or so they think) have just offered to let me try out an experimental new 625 HP turbo-diesel refrigerator-on-its-side which, alas, handles like sh!t but goes like sh!t. So, you may be losing me. As I get :old: er and :old: er I lose the ability to turn on the twisties. And I have to stop every 5-7 miles for a "pit stop" if you know what I mean (wink wink).

Since you are the "Bloviating Gas Bag", aren't you the ideal customer (having your own internal fuel source)? I'm sure this was a minor oversight...

Due to technical difficulties, we ask that you please cast your vote again as all votes were lost due to a disturbance in the force.
Just pretend you are registered to vote in Florida, and you get to vote again and again and again!
Thank you for your cooperation!

Beastard. And just like Florida, my vote did not count. Maybe I should go to Illinois where the slogan is "Vote early and often."
This just in: For the November 2008 Presidential Election, those in favor of the Democratic candidate will be voting on Tuesday, November 4. Those voting for the Republican nominee will go to the polls on Thursday, November 6.
Interesting posts. Let's take the political direction in another thread. I am interested in pursuing your comments.

Our "friend" from Stuttgart is no competitor at all. You are currently driving the finest M vehicle and it proves that you still have what it takes to be a BMW driver. Rest assured, our next generation of Comfort Access will feature Comfort Reminder, which will assist you in remembering your "pit stop" as we are aware that our drivers are getting a touch :old: (but more experienced nonetheless).
Regardless of age, you are still and always will be, our most valued customer in North America, along with fellow Members of this wonderful website.

Again, another model BMW customer.
