FormulaOne Pinnacle 15% ceramic tint

Well..I got the car tinted today(and I tried to improve my Valentine One install..to use the remote)

Anyway..I opted for FormulaOne Pinnacle films..unlike LordCash, I went with 15% film all around....I decided given how hot Florida get I wantmore heat reduction...in the end I have to say wihout the film cured it is almost as dark :tdown: as my 15% metal tint

I know where are the pics..well it is dark outside so no pics yet....Hopefully tomorrow will be a clear day and I will post pics

It will likely be darker than people like...but I am fuction over form on this one.....

What is the Florida legal limit? I believe NC is 30% min on front side windows and they definitely hassle folks with darker tint.

In florida like most states..35% max on front windows...but there are like 2 tint meters in all of Hillsborough county(others counties in nearby areas have similar number of tint meters or less)...the installer(and the previous installer I used) said so many people place 15% all around they basically never pull anyone over for it
Limo tint ie 5% I would probably have alot more issues

In July in my 530i I got a speeding ticket :100: (before the V1) from FHP(these guys are usually hardcore) and I have 15% tint on that car all around..never said a word

So yes I am illegaly tinted but if the last 4 1/2 yrs are any indication I should be fine..but who knows

I guess it looks darker because of the black roof from the inside.

Looks good, nealh, and I don't think it's too dark at all. You shouldn't have any trouble with LEO's with your 15%.

I considered tinting my vert, but was concerned that, with the top down and the windows up, the dark windows would seem strange. Any thoughts on that?

I am sure it will look "different" (but with summer heat being so oppresive I wanted as much heat rejection as I could get)..I cant show you a pic of this yet ...the tint has to "cure" for 2-3 days in the sun or at least 3 days in the shade..then I can get the windows and top down
Also at that time I will have my KOTR sticky on for pics as well

I was also told it may lighten some after curing becasue of any residual moisture..but they really used the heat gun more tha nusually since our windows go down a touch when opening/closing the doors

Ceramic 15% is little lighter film than 15% metal tint films..according to spec I will have 58% heat rejection, at least as good or slightly better than metal
Huper Optik has the most heat rejection but they want another $100...just doubted it would matter that much(my installer was the cheapest on Huper Optik for anyone I have seen...I paid $235 after coupon, he wanted another $100 or so for the Huper Optik..other guy in town wanted $500 :100:

Go for it! Travis had 15% tint on his 'vert and it looks great. Tint always compliments a car well.

I have 15% F1 ceramic and love it. Definitely glad I didn't do 35%. Yes, it's illegal, but I've only had one issue so far.

OK..WTF, today I have the sat radio an it is cutting out like crazy...mild fog but sky is clear
any trees I pass under at all and the signal drops

So I look at iDrive screen and the icon for the sat signal is not there ....nothing(usually when the sat radio is on there is a icon with bars for signal strength

Satellite radio has always cut out at weird times for me, too. If it cuts out when you are in the middle of nowhere with a clear view to the sky (and one of Cobradav's satellites), then you need to bring it in to the dealer because you may be experiencing antenna problems.

I was paying careful attention to this as I drove to work...funny thing is I drive the same route to work..last week I had the usual drops(the antennae on my 650 is much worse around trees than on my 530 which is 4 yrs old)...

But today after the tinting....I am get no icon and drops with any tree on the road....very odd

I will be paying close attention to this...I just find it hard to believe the antennae just cramped out..maybe the satellites were in a weird position for Tampa
