What boggles my mine from am mechanical stand point is how at if I recall correctly 19 000 rpm can an F1 motor hold together,I mean they do,but the valve trains in cretin forms of racing (namely our local from of motor sport v8superscars)there all way stressing not to "buzz" (over rev) motor other wise valve springs tend to let go.

Amazing isn't 19,000 RPMs, simply amazing and the engines are 2.4litres (WOW)!

Unfortunately, for the Supercar (V8), they don't have anywhere near the materials used in the the mighty F1!

F1. Back in January I sat next to a director of photography/cameraman on the flight home from the Big Apple (where m630 and I had a drink and a walk around the block). This guy was a car nut with lots of Ferarris. Lived in Calabasas, too.

Interesting guy. His brother was a physician/inventor who came up with some pump for the human body, maybe the heart, and also adapted that technology for the Ferarri team to use a few years ago on its racing cars. The pump added pressure to the tires of the racecar (did I spell that backwards?) for the first few laps till the tires warmed up, and then it backed the pressures off so they remained at optimum. He told me that Ferarri gave his brother 2-3 older racecars for the design, which Ferarri had for the first year, but which F1 then allowed the other racers to use after that.

At the time we met I only had a lil ole 650i, so I wasn't in his league. But now that I have my V-10 I keep looking for him when I drive around his neighborhood.

Is anyone here familiar with this story, BTW? Is it true?

That story? HAH!

I don't think you have EVER been to the Big Apple, or ever met "m630" or for that matter ever walked around ANY block. And I don't think you even live in Calabasas.
