LEMONT, Ill., Sept. 7 -- With the world's top golfers on hand at the inaugural BMW Championship this week, BMW is celebrating the event and the sport by creating a BMW Individual 6 Series Golf Sport, a vehicle offering specially created colors and features designed to align luxury driving with the sport of golf, it was announced today by Tom Purves, Chairman and CEO, BMW (US) Holding Corp. The BMW Individual 6 Series Golf Sport is on display this week at Cog Hill Golf & Country Club, site of the BMW Championship -- the third leg in the PGA TOUR Playoffs for the FedExCup.

The BMW Individual 6 Series Golf Sport comes with a custom Brilliant White metallic exterior finish accented by 19" BMW Individual light alloy wheels. The interior features BMW Individual Merino leather upholstery in Canyon Brown with Walnut Amarone interior trim elements and Alcantara headliner, enabling customers to enjoy a style suited to the spirit of golf and the BMW Championship. The BMW Individual 6 Series Golf Sport will be available nationwide beginning in November.

"We are excited to directly link this great sport and our relationship with the BMW Championship in a way customers will enjoy well beyond the tournament," said Purves. "The BMW Individual 6 Series Golf Sport allows for the ultimate celebration of golf and luxury driving, and we look forward to providing this experience for fans and drivers alike."

BMW Individual, introduced to customers in the U.S. last year, launched internationally in 1991 with the goal of leading the trend towards more individuality by concentrating on customers who were looking for made-to- measure solutions and making tougher demands on their BMW in terms of distinction, design and function. BMW Individual designs paint finishes, leather types and interior trim strips with the desire to meet the customer's requirements.

Thanks for the article, Lord Bear. However, I noticed something orange ( :scared: ) right along the front fender on that 6er. It reminds me ( ) of the side marker/turn signal on Z350 ( :puke: ). Don't you guys think so? Take a closer look. No disrespect, but I think that :bmw: 6er original side marker is a beaut and doesn't need any extras. Just my .02c.

IIRC, someone (Spyder?) posted a picture of that orange marker on another model (5er?) Must be the color of things to come.

I'd like to see a larger/better picture of that Brilliant White Metallic - could be a winner!

the orange reflector on the wheel well takes the place of the front sidemarker that was orange in the headlight assembly for the MY2008 E63/64...this is due to the DOT requirement, it has also been replaced on the E60, and was rolled out as standard design on the E92

but, it does not replace the actual illuminated turn/side marker, look close and its still there

Thanks for the info, m630. Although, it still looks fugly to me. I think, at least, they could have made it white, so it doesn't standout that much. Unless that is against the new DOT requirement. :dunno:

Only new on MY08 5er in March, 6er coming in September and 3er I believe back in MY07 or even earlier (maybe on e92 release).

Many have alrady very easily popped it out had it painted the body color and reinserted. boxy, gman, Richard and I saw first hand an e92 at Sharkfest 2007 that did this. Almost imperceptable.

Good call bb. Here's a close up of the side marker on my '08 535i. I don't mind it all.
