I dropped my 650i off in Munich at Harms on August 1, 2007. According to both Owner's Circle and my dealer, the car is still in Germany, "awaiting transport". Now, I understand that they don't let those giant ships go until they are filled to capacity, but still....4 weeks (almost to the day) and it hasn't even left yet? I was originally told by the dealer that typically re-delivery happens in "about six weeks". However, given that I have heard the ship takes 4 weeks to get to the East coast and another 1 week to get to California (presumably using the Panama Canal), that would mean that a California-bound car would typically sit "on the dock" for only about 1 week. Should I be overly alarmed that mine has sat for 4 weeks already?
I was hoping you guys could chime in on how much time it took total for your redelivery from the time you dropped it off and also how much of that time was spent "awaiting transport".
Lastly, does anyone know a better way to track the ships directly than using the Owner's Circle tracking (which is kind of inaccurate at times - I was driving my 330Ci when Owner's Circle was still saying that it was being transported from Port Hueneme to my dealer in Freemont, CA :-)
