Oh your just jalouse because the 6'er doesn't come with the "AINTI UNWASHED REMOVER SYSTEM"

:greenlaff: Good one! I like the styling of the Astons, especially the DB9/DBS and the Vanquish. But I just don't buy their engineering, unless they have been modified by Q Branch in MI6 UK.

I am like you 650iOzBoy, The reliability, engineering is suspect. :sleep2: The company talks a good game, asks a hefty price, have awesome designs but their issues seem to plague them like Jaguar. Why doesn't BMW just buy the damn company...

I think BMW may have had enough of English companies though... :youbet:

BMW sells its mistakes to Ford and doesn't buy Ford's mistakes. BMW is doing quite well with two of the three English companies it bought.

I think BMW's only English patient was Rover, wasn't it? :puke: Mini has exceeded their expectations in sales while the Rolls is basically a mono-line brand with just one platform and positioning BMW's premium branding. At the end of the day, it all comes down to what BMW thinks they can do best with their capital, given their risk appetite and corporate aspirations. Spending a few hundred million Pounds Sterling to acquire Aston (or whatever it cost), maybe BMW can do better by developing its own new products. Things like the new X6, 1 series derivatives, new Z4/Z6 etc. and cutting edge engineering all need money, too.

Mini's branding is premium entry-level, while the Roll's branding is top-end. BMW sits in the middle. A nice package. Actually, I'm mistaken. There is one single make that sits over and above the Rolls, as top-top-end, which is the BMW 6 series.

A bit hyperbolic.

Nope, but close. Try "fon," I mean "fan."

Good points. :knight2:

Interesting thoughts about the X6, V-Series, and other derivatives. We'll see and yes, that 6 Series is one step above the rest!

cd, is that your baby??? luv that photo, i think you should do BMWs next 6er catalog!!!

this is the first time I've actually viewed them side by side, and i must humbly admit, I like OURS better!!!!!!!

i dont like at all the new front air damn from the side, it doesnt look terrible from the front view, but the side view looks a bit like somethings missing

as for the rear bumper, no biggie, but they didnt need to wrap the side markers so much

the trunk (boot) is my biggest problem area, the profile changes is almost as bad as the 3-rd light debacle

....its f*in rice!!! (sorry) :shitfan:

has there been any word yet as to whether the M6 will get these "updates"?????? :vomit: im sort of hoping not as that may make my decision easier when this baby goes back in a couple of more years as i'll need something to hold me over until the Fxx 6er arrives :electric:

Yes, the ///Ms get the same treatment.

I beginning to have the same thoughts as you. In a related matter, I had a MB CL something pull up behind me a the front looked sooo much like the refresh 6er. The new fogs are pushed out so they are directly under the headlights and other changes are starting to make me have 2nd thoughts. If not for that new STEP tranny I would not even hesitate to keep mine another 50K miles. I just want to get my hands on that new tranny so bad I might make a potentially foolish move. Maybe I should wait it out in an M3 instead?

its funny you metion the new CL, i was going to mention that in the note above as i just saw one for the first time in the metal this afternoon, and its amazing how similar the design cues are between them, both in the front, the side profile, and the trunk...

im still undecided as well...ii probably have a 2 year gap that i need to fill....im sure the M3 is going to be fun (though id have to wait for the next tranny DCT to be offered as i cant deal with clutching every day anymore), but i really gotta get behind the wheel of one before i'd think of going in that direction...

i dont know, i think its going to be real -small inside now, atleast compared to what im used to in our 6ers, especially without the glass roof to give you the feeling of space we get, and the ergonomics are a step back to say the least, not to mention that every boy-racer will have one

....i still like the fact that there arent many 6ers around, the new M3 will be everywhere.... luckily, i have time :violin:

The refreshed 6 is a side step, not a step up. Most refreshed styling are side steps I think, maybe except for the refreshed 7 series. I still prefer our original inspired styling.

As for the new M3, what's the big deal? If any of you get rid of your 6 and replace it with the new M3, you will miss your 6, especially when you see a 6 drive pass while you sit in the cramped M3 and be followed around by a million other 3 series. The M3 will be fun and a hot rocket to drive but I won't be thinking: "Geeee, I wonder what's it like to be in an M3" every time when you see one go by.

Our 6 is getting on with age, no doubt, but ever so gracefully.

Well I am just musing out loud about an M3. I am frustrated that the 6er refresh changed things it did not need to and missed a couple of opportunites for real improvement. The M3 is not a serious contender for my :100: , but I will try it out if given a chance. All your points on the short comings of the M3 versus the 6er are just as I see it too.

Well the New M3 is really not a bad choice but the real question is will it be a cruiser like the M5 or 650i... I am not to sure about that, plus dealers a bugging these days with their premium pricing insanity and lack of initiative to drop off a few grand off the MSRP. Sucks you know!
