Has anyone tried to continue a call with a phone once placed in the car? How do you do that? All that happens with me is the phone says "connected" but the call stays in the car through the speakers and accessory (position 1) can't be turned off. On my old M5 system, you simply opened the phone to continue a call thru the phone instead of the car.

Me, too, both the M6 and the 535xi. You have to walk far enough from the car (30+ feet) so that the Bluetooth is no longer within range.

Even when you deactivate Bluetooth?
I'll have to try...

my nightmares usually consist of someone putting my cell phone on vibrate without me knowing it so I can't hear it ring or the battery going dead at noon. :scared:

My cell disconnects from my 6er when I shutoff the engine and eject the fob from ignition. i used to have same issue and had to take my car in for service. My SA said that there were problems with computer recognizing that the ignition has been turned off. They were able to fix that in one day. :dunno: I hope this helps.

I thought Richard meant continuing a call outside of the car while the engine was running.
As you said, bluetooth should disconnect automatically once you turn off the engine and remove the fob.

My issue has been when I am on the phone and I have to get off the car while the engine is still running (car is parked of course). I try disconnecting bluetooth manually from my phone and, allthough it says (Disconnected BMW) , the car picks up the signal again inmediately. I have a NEXTEL, so it might be a different case than what you guys have. Is there a way to continue a call outside of the car without having to turn off the engine and removing the fob? Example of this is when I am on a call and I have to leave the car with the valet (Yes Mal, I use valet services sometimes... ).

NEXTEL works with :bmw: BT? I never knew that.
