Yup...and they make cars costing over $1.3 Million as well...they're called VEYRONS.

NEXTEL works with :bmw: BT? I never knew that.
VR>
NEXTEL only has 2 or 3 phones with bluetooth available.
I wouldn't say it REALLY works, but it's better than nothing. I still have to manually input the phone number I want to dial, the phone list is not displayed and the caller ID only shows the number, not the name.
I can use the "walkie-talkie" through the car though! I still have to press the side button, but it works...
It is not BMW approved and it doesn't let me use the car's phone functionality at it's fullest, but I managed to make it work somewhat... :sad3:
If I didn't need the NEXTEl for business so much, I would probably get an iphone...they tell me they are sweet!!
i have a suntan on my cheak that says "Windows Mobile" - i think it's a fashion statement.
Are you sure it doesn't say, "eliboM swodniW" instead?
It actually says "BHR4CE1 Calling...2:3Xam"

SHEESH!!!!!!
Hang up and call 'em back!
:greenlaff:
OK, SHEESH, I'll spell it out. I wanted to call my favorite stealer before they closed so I called while driving home. I was on hold still when I pulled into the garage. Because of CA, I pressed the off button to stop the engine. Still on hold. I grabbed and opened my phone. It said "connected". The car speakers still said "please hold". No key fob to disconnect so I pressed the off button to kill accessory, the car speakers said "please hold". I went down the driveway to grab the mail. Nothing from the phone. I walked back through the garage. Accessory was still on, the car speakers said "please hold". I got in the car, cycled through on,off, no change. "Please hold"! I pressed a few buttions on the phone. I disconnected the call somehow :( The accessory position shut off by itself. I redialed the number directly from the phone. "Sorry the parts department is closed". :(
If it takes 30 feet for the car to disconnect bluetooth (my driveway is probably 25 feet long), do I have to tell the caller to wait a minute for me to walk far enough away from the car and then presto the call comes back to the phone? Thats dumb. With the old CPT8000 in the M5, the second you open the phone, the call goes to it. You can then have a private conversation or unplug and leave the car.
This is yet another feature that BMW had perfected in the older cars but screwed up in the new ones.

Could it be an issue with the phone? Maybe whatever tells the car that the phone is "opened" isn't sending a message to the car?

Has anyone tried to continue a call with a phone once placed in the car? How do you do that? All that happens with me is the phone says "connected" but the call stays in the car through the speakers and accessory (position 1) can't be turned off. On my old M5 system, you simply opened the phone to continue a call thru the phone instead of the car.
I have a Motorola 810 with Verizon. I was talking with my sister on the way home from work. This issue has always bugged me since the phone would stay connected when I got out of the car. I played with a few buttons and low and behold I found the "disconnect bluetooth" option and went on my way continuing the call. I have had the phone for over a year and never noticed the feature. Of course I have only had a call as I was parking a few times.

Thanks. I may have found something in the RAZR manual that shows how to disconnect Bluetooth. I may have to try it.

Maybe you can share it!
What I do, although I'm sure there is a "proper" way:-
(1) Continue the call in the car seated, via Bluetooth with iDrive all turned on, for you to :blah:
(2) When done, turn off the electronics, leave & lock as usual.
Simple. One thing at a time, what's the rush?

It is simpler than that. You are referring to the option to configure BT on/off. I found an option to simply disconnect. So BT stays on just disconnects the current session.

Try setting your cell's BT to "Discoverable" mode instead of constant "ON". I have that on my other phones and it works great. The moment you turn off the iDrive, phone will automatically disconnect, keeping your call active. But you must pull the fob out, to turn off the iDrive. :dunno:
