Sir Launchalot,
I was wondering if you can help me resolve the following issue with my iDrive (I'm using v25.01):
I received a call, clicked on accept it. When the other party hangup, my cell had ended the call, but the iDrive kept it active. I had to stop the car and shut off the engine to restart the iDrive (it was frozen solid). This had happened to me few times this month and frankly, kinda drives me crazy. Any :helpsign: (or info) would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance,

Not only what phone but is this a change? By that I mean, did you change phones, providers, or upgrade the 6er software and then get this symptom?

I'm using razor T-Mobile and yes, I did do an upgrade to v25.01. Maybe 2-3 weeks later is when it started to happen. :dunno:

My T-Mobile RAZR has worked flawlessly but I had PROGMAN 23.00.00 or maybe 24.00.00 (or a variant). I just brought the M6 in for some warranty work and because I am having some other iDrive issues I was told today BMW will upgrade my software (thanks, Cobradav). So I will be getting 25.00.02 or maybe 26.00.00. I have asked for the measures report and will advise what I get and what happens after I get it. It's important for us to share experiences on these things since there is no other place we can learn about bugs.

Thanks Mal, Please do post your report, when you get the software upgraded.

Ok, I do think that is the culprit - the upgrade. It does not have to necessarily be the specific version itself but in combination with other issues may have been the trigger mechanism. Unfortuantely I think your only recourse at this point is to get in with this issue, making it VERY clear you had no issue PRIOR to the upgrade and that is the only change in your configuration, which was stable.

I've poured over e60 and e90 bluetooth issues and nothing points directly at 25.01 so it is just an unfortunate combination of circumstances in your case

Thanks, Sir Launchalot. I'm going to wait and see what Mal's latest version does and how it works in general and then, perhaps, take my 6er to the service for an upgrade too. Also, I was going to try my other cell phone and see if my razor is old enough to be discarded yet. I will let you know of my findings.
Thanks again,

My 6er is at the shop and SA says :phone: that they were able to read out the fault, which may be a cause of my other issues with iDrive (besides the one I reported to them). Hopefully, I will get the latest software upgrade. I will let you know, once I get my car back. So far, I'm stuck with 328xi (4 doors :scared: ) and auto (no disrespect to others, but I prefer a manual trans). Oh, well. I think I'll have me a cold :guiness: .

I got the M6 back this morning. Thanks to Cobradav I asked for the Measures Plan Report (called a "Final Report"). I had alerted my SA that I wanted to know which PROGMAN* had been installed, and someone wrote in handwriting on the first page "26.1.2" which I take to mean 26.01.02. I suspect this is the current active software.

The look and feel is a bit different. The opening iDrive screen (with the pictographic "knob" and the compass) is more metallic looking, and with a lot less color. Each of the four screens to the N, E, S & W, when accessed, is less colorful, too. It appears (but I cannot be sure) that when I ask the RTT for accidents (shunts for the POHMs) and delays, I get those closer to me first (but not necessarily the closest). There are now several ways to get into various points of interest in Nav/Information, but one requires spelling the entire entry for a specific location. I'm not sure I can get into the list simply alphabetically, but I'll check some more.

The speed of the new program seems to be a little faster, but that could be just wishful thinking. All in all the new PROGMAN seems to be only slightly different and marginally better. I guess when the betterment is more and more slight it means all the big bugs have been ironed out.

I'm at 6600 miles and almost 5 months and I couldn't be happier with my M6.

Oh, and the real reason for posting here -- I haven't noticed any phone issues yet. (RAZR with T-Mobile.)

*Contrary to what the pissants at some other place think, PROGMANs and SIBs are not the same thing. A SIB is not software.

Mal - what is the Target Data Status number on your Final report? Should read something like E060-07-##-###
I'll assign the TDS to PROGMAN 26.01.02 in our matrix. I have several reports that no material changes to vehicle are contained in v26.##.##. The fact that the SIB for PROGMAN has not been updated since April 07 and v25.01.00 lends credance to this claim. Often times that means it is just updates in the way it is handled by the processing systems (fixes that make it not crash while updating a car, for instance).

Dave - I emailed the Measures Plan and Report to you this afternoon. I'll try to PM it to you as an attachment.

Target Data Status is E060-07-03-525, which is a blip up from the last I saw of -520.

You guys missed the one word which, significantly, separates me from him: Big.
