Does anyone here feel that there would be a benefit here for a "rating list" of dealers in different areas? I know we are not going to be a commercial site, and I am not talking about sponsors. I just meant if we have had a good experience or bad with certain Dealership service departments, or SR's, would it be at all helpful to have a section about them?
Let me know.

I think, in some way, this would be like "sponsoring" or advertising them. Don't you? Just my .02c. :dunno:

I guess it could be viewed as that, but I was thinking more about a "recommendation" list of where to go and where NOT to go. Just a way to help our BMW brethren avoid potential headaches. It was just a thought.

I have nothing but good things to say about the Service Department at BMW of San Diego. My SA is Ann Munson. Any 6er needing to take their car in for servicing, ask for Ann. Best part is BMWSD doesn't care where you bought your car from. They offer loaner cars to anyone. :thumb:

That is nice to hear. So far, my service experiences at Long Beach BMW have been great. I didn't buy my car there (got it at South Bay, but would NEVER go there for service again) but they gave me a loaner anyway yesterday  when they told me the software update would take overnight to complete. :headache:
The parts dept is also very nice. I went in there to buy a qt (liter?) of the special M engine oil to keep with me just in case, and when the sales rep realized I had a 2007 M6, he just gave it to me, saying " You shouldn't be paying for oil now."

Sorry Lord Bear, I didn't mean to steal your post. :megaphone: Everyone, let's get back on the subject. Thanks.

No Worries!
Enigma's conundrum was wrapped up in a puzzle. I've tried to delete all his posts to give him a fresh start. (Good thing he was not trolling for customers like DJ@RichardsonBMW!) So, why doesn't Engima start anew, if he can remember what he wanted to say. (I never can -- :old: ) Then maybe we can clean up this thread a little if Lord Bear doesn't mind me removing the remaining evidence of the confusion.

I personally like Motor Werks of Barrington in Illinois.Their customer service is outstanding :woot: and I enjoy their coffee lounge, that overlooks (it's on the second floor of the building) the service shop. Oh, and they also do :carwash: , when they're done. :bravo:

Good idea to have a Dealer Service or related thread now or forum later as we grow. Might not be rating system per se but at least our good and bad experiences. I know my dealer knows my handle as some owners use my member name from other boards to tell SA's that they want this or that. My SA even introduced me as cobradav to a lady that had insisted that the iPod Most install should work on her car based on what I had posted on bf.c (she was in a 5er too). We want to get to that level here as well.
When my dealer jumped through hoops to make me "satisfied" after some screw up on their part I made sure I told them I would post their great response on the boards I frequent. They had the letter posted on a wall in the service center for awhile.

OK, so not a formal rating system, but overall experiences, good or bad...sounds good to me.
Now, should we break this down by region (or time zone), or just have one thread for the whole lot of us?
Region will be most appropriate, IMHO
