Tropical fish store - deionized water - 5 gallon jugs - I have 8 of them - pour into a plant waterer - you know - the kind with the spout on it so you get a clean flow of water - rinse vehicle after washing and rinsing with tap - car will dry without spots - most amazing - clear clean you'll ever see - yes everyone will look at you like youre a freak - watering your "plant" thats shaped like a car.

Maybe, when you get your 5 you won't be. Well then again you might need some Deionized water.

Definitely gotta try this.

Has anyone gone to the lengths of actually putting up a tarp or something to provide shade during car washes? I used to have a tree that hung over my driveway, which was nice. Not any more. :(

Actually, I had the CR Spotless system installed at my home, and I never have to dry the car off when I wash it.

Do you have a jet black 6er though? Trust me when I say it makes a difference in the water you need.

LOL!!! I just went to that website, clicked on "Videos", and saw their demo video. They used a light silver car. Well duh. God i hate human beings and their horrible propensity to be deceptive. I washed my silver car with seriously crappy hard tap water and didnt see spots either.

Their video needs to be on a black car...

Also just noticed this: "The DIC-10 provides approximately 100 gallons of mineral-free, de-ionized water based on your input water quality. "

Based on your water input quality. Meaning, if your tap water is sh*t, like it is where I live, you arent gonna get deionized water out of that unit at all, and thats going to make it useless for a jet black vehicle.

My car is Sapphire Black Metallic, and I have had ZERO spotting problem.

Strange...they must have changed the videos. Back when I bought it they showed a guy washing a black Benz and a Black truck. Did you look through all the videos?

Let me first say that I am in NO way affiliated with the CR Spotless company, and I receive NOTHING from them to brag about their product.

The water here in Long Beach is pretty bad (so says my cleaning woman in regard to the large expanses of glass I have in my showers). I have washed my black car with my DIC 20 CR system at LEAST 25 times so far, and the meter still shows about 290-340 particles on the "IN" side and ZERO particles getting through to the "OUT" side. I bought the refill to change out the granules, and thought that I would need to change it by now, but I guess not. But if you have something that works for you...maybe you should just praise that system rather than putting down a product that you have never used.

5 gal * 8 containers, 40 gals per wash? Criminy, Mr. Clean is better than that (but I have a SG so what do I know?).

When you get a jet black car youll know what im talkin about. Even if i "tough it out" and use only tap water, when you dry it, its got a pale white fog all over it, instead of outright white spots. And the parts you dont get to quickly enough - well youve got white spots that dont wipe off. Even a minute or two after drying. Its a pain in the ass.

I wonder if it's similar to that "spot-free rinse" at those DIY wash places? I use that on mine.

No. Thats some sort of waxy substance that encourages the water to separate and not flow. Its totally different. This is very simple - its clean water with no sediments in it, so it dries clear. We need it desperately out here in Arizona / San Diego.

I believe that most of the self-serve car washes use a reverse osmosis system for their "spot free rinse" setting, which usually has lower water pressure than that of the other settings.

:scared: San Diego seceded and moved to Aridzona?
