View Full Version : Is anybody up for a Brembo group buy?
I just wanted to know if any of you guys is interested. Also, if you have prior experience with their products (especially the BBK) or have already installed it in your six, please share.

The Brembos may look good, but they don't really do much for the 6er unless you want to track it. For $6K+ it's a lot of buck with no bang.
I asked the Brembo people last year what their brakes did by way of improvement and they could provide no data just seat-of-your-pants anecdotes. Of course, anybody who spends a lot of money on new brakes wants to think they work better, but without tests it's not possible because the brakes on the 6ers are so good. (Even better on the M6.)

COUNT ME IN!!!!!
It's true that the Brembo GT system is a little pricey, but IMO it is gorgeous!
I am not really sure if it is any better than stock. Brembo tells me that they are lighter than OEM, which if true, couldn't hurt. But I want them mostly because of the look. Of course there will be no more free brake jobs covered, and might be a few squeeks...but that's the price you pay for art in motion!
Keep me posted on the group buy info!
So you will be giving your stock M6 breaks to the Registered Charity of Me?

What would you do with them? Make a candy dish?
*Brakes... how bad has my spelling got :headache:
Some wall clocks
Bear, if it's all about the looks when don't we do a group buy for spray paint? And you can donate the rest of the money to my M6 tin can fund.

So, anyone else into this? I would like to get these going. So far, I have gotten the following prices from Long Beach BMW. These prices are for parts, labor, tax, out the door.
Front with 15" rotors $4,325.25
Front with 16" rotors $4,541.75
Rear $3,567.50
Can we get a better deal anywhere else?

That is not a good deal. Would you consider $6K a good deal for 8 piston for the front and 4 piston for the rear? If so, let me see what my resource can do.

Is that the 16" rotor for the front?
Installed?
What shop?

I believe it is with the 16" rotors and 8 piston calipers for the front. The 15" rotors may be paired with the 6 piston calipers. I need to verify if the $6K includes install. This part you won't like. The shop is located in Santa Clara. It's a bit of a drive from OC.

YOWSA!!!!
That is like 366 miles away! How much just for the parts, and I will have them installed down here.

Got confirmation from my source that you can get 16" front rotors with 6 piston calipers and 15" rear rotors with 4 pistons for $6K. They recommend for M5/M6 to go with 6 piston calipers for high performance application.

:bravo:
OK, so HOW MUCH :100: for the parts alone? I would rather have them installed locally.
