After going back to BM-Fest to poke around a bit this morning, I can really say that today feels more like Independence Day than ever. Not to repudiate the true significance of this National holiday in any way, but it really is nice to be free from all the crap that I slowly got used to, and put up with over there. So when will I cut the cord and amputate my membership on BMFest permanently?
After being a considerable part of the start-up of this forum, it really is peculiar to go back there and observe the unruliness and ostensibly UNASHAMED exploitation of commerce that the owners of that board appear to encourage. I am also starting to truly welcome the clean lines of our new home. Sure there will be some growing pains here and there, but by and large, I feel that we have come a long way in a very short time.
We’ve all seen the “thank you’s” posted here to Malibu, Cobradav, Nevervana, Abe, me and others in regards to the start up of this new site. We all appreciate that, but I want to take a minute to thank the 38 plus folks (and counting) that came over to join us in our infancy. It makes it all worth while when you get the support of your peers!
So, today, I sense I will really show my Independence by deleting my membership over “there” and not looking back..
Happy 4th to all!

Happy 4th to all!Well said, Bear. Thanks for being "game" so we could all have some independence.
I have moved this to the Bear's Den because this is precisely the kind of stuff we want there.
To all the guys Bear mentioned (which is everyone) all I have to say is :grouphug: To Bear, Never (most of all for setting this all up for us and spending maybe 100 hours+ so far), Cobradav and Abe I want to say :bravo: .
And I do think we should thank Jon for starting up the Bimmerfest site. Tim needs no thanks for ruining it, :ebay: but he did keep it going when we found it and joined. Of course, he has been compensated handsomely for it :100: -- but he could have been selling used 3ers in Medford, Massachusetts, so his choice to keep it going was lucky for us.
I especially want to thank whoever it was who found my very own sticky for me -- well for me and the other Geezers - :old:

Lord Bear, I've been trying to find a way to do the same for days now, but to no avail. Any suggestions or recommendations?
Thanks in advance,

Actually, I have been running into the same snag. I have searched all over the BM page to unearth instructions on how to terminate my membership/delete my profile, etc. but ZILCH. Could it be that the owner’s philosophy was based on the fact where it would be utterly preposterous that ANYONE would ever want to abandon their site so they neglected to incorporate this feature??
I have even searched the forums over at VBulletin (the company that makes the software BMFest uses) and nothing!
If anyone out there knows how to do this, please advise. :|

How ironic, they (the owners of BF) can delete anything and at anytime and us, the simple folks, we can't even be in charge of our own membership.

I was thinking the same thing.
HAPPY 4th of July Everyone! Enjoy the BBQ, Sun and :beers: !
I cannot even delete my previous attachments on BF. :censored: :pissed2:
Well, let's just say that if I can't delete then I'm gonna force them to.....
First step: Replace my location with "Gone to http://www.knightsoftheroundel.com where there is no censorship or hidden commercial aganda!" after taking off my avatar and sig.
I'll take more drastic measures later..... :nra:

Without any notification or warning from the pathetic, insolent, weak-willed, spineless "folks" that run Bimmerfest, It seems that they have disabled my profile completely. I have been trying to delete my personal information from that pitiful excuse for a website for a website, but here is what I get when I try to do ANYTHING...
:finger: You may not post new threads
:finger: You may not post replies
:finger: You may not post attachments
:finger: You may not edit your posts
I have reviewed the rules of the BM forums, and I am not in violation of any of them. At this point, I have no idea as to what level my privacy has been plagued or compromised on that site.
I would advise all users to make sure that the password you used there is not in use at any other sites you visit, as there really is no way of knowing if the admins of Bimmerfest have access to that information.
