View Full Version : Changes at Bimmerfeast.Commercial
There have been a few more changes at bimmerfeast.commercial.
First, Ask Cobradav disappeared yesterday. Gone with it were all the posts and the post count of those who had posted there. That's really helping the BMW community, ain't it? :bigfinger: :ass: :finger:
Second, threads are disappearing at an even faster rate and moved threads have lost their shadow placeholders in the forums whence they were moved. However, there's almost nobody left to complain.
Third, and most importantly, the tagline "Where BMW's Luxury Touring Coupes and Convertibles Are Discussed by the Official Knights of the Roundel" is gone, gone, gone. :woot: As are the Knights.
I sure hope GeneArch comes over soon. I really miss the ArchBishop. :youbet:

Honestly, I am surprised that my account over there hasn't been de-activated.

Someone, maybe Abe, posted a link to the photos on B'fest...there is NO 6 series section. All the other models have sections - not the 6. Looks like the unwashed 3ers and seized control. The second coming of the Inquisition.
Ouch... The death of the 6 Series at Bimmerfest.Commerical!
What a shame--It was all a Commerical gimmick and we made Mr. Jon a lot of MONEY! NO MORE I SAY, NO MORE!!
i saw the forum name change the other day, what a sorry state of affairs over there...oh well, you reap what you sow.... :scared:

Gerry - the site owner is Tim330i. Jon started the site to promote his Santa Barbara Bimmerfest. Set everything up, got dedicated mods. Then someone came along who saw what he could do to make some money and pretend to be bringing the BMW community together. Instead, he was bringing the rubes down for the shameless commercial slaughter.
Companies like Umnitza's chumming for money for their "non-OEM" products. :flush: Umnitza never walked straight after making a post on the 6er board, but everywhere else the suckers thought he was onto something. We were a tough group. And that's why we're gone. They still haven't figured it out, blaming it on a hissy fit. Those of us who can afford 6ers don't think the norm is to shove advertising down our throats and allow the advertisers to force us to swallow their bilge.
I may be a pain in the ass, but when two disparate personalities like Cobradav and the Bear wanted to help me set up a new site, what does that tell you? (I remember writing the Bear a one word e-mail: "Game?" The reply: "Game on!") And Cobradav couldn't stand the pissants, with an emphasis on "piss."
Game on!

As long as bimmerfest has been around they really don't have too many active members.
A lot of accounts, but few folks on the boards.
I would rather pay $5 a month or so and not have ads, piss ants, and whiners. :youbet:

Ahemmm, Chuck, you must be mistaken...there is a $10k donation to the Mal M6 Tin Can Fund required. You haven't paid yet?

Really? Did I miss that? :scared:

Amateurs. Why don't bimmerfest.commercial go all the way; delete every single thread and post made by us in the past?
:finger:
Richard in NC has asked "what happened?" over at bimmerfeast.commercial, where no opportunity for a sponsor to importune a member of the "BMW community" goes unfulfilled. Predictably, the thread was buried, an "answer" given which was not really convincing, and then the thread was locked in order to float to the bottom of the heap. You can read it here: http://www.bimmerfest.com/forums/showth ... p?t=215625 (http://www.bimmerfest.com/forums/showthread.php?t=215625) But who knows for how long.
Take a look at bimmerfeast.commercial. I never realized just how crowded it was with sponsor and advertising clutter. And the owner's decision to kow-tow to his sponsors has cost him the most active participants (who are also probably the best demographic for the "target rich" environment the sponsors and advertiser want).
There's lot of talk elsewhere about "community." But "community" does not mean bringing together a bunch of people and then shoving services, products and advertising down their throats. And when the bile starts to rise, pouring it on.
The best thing about being here is that Umnitza will not be able to post and try to sell his wares to us with his lopsided replies to straight-forward questions. That alone was worth all the time and costs we have incurred in setting up this website.
To show you how they are bringing the BMW community together, consider this recent thread on the 6er forum, a brilliant repartee between a Jeep owner and a 3er owner: http://www.bimmerfest.com/forums/showth ... p?t=215630 (http://www.bimmerfest.com/forums/showthread.php?t=215630) . Boy, that's some scintillating, hilarious stuff. No wonder "Ask Cobradav" has simply been deleted. It can't compete with this . . . . . drivel.
Today, I logged into bimmerfest.commercial to “update” my personal profile. I changed references to my location, signature, biography and brief comment below my avatar all simply to http://www.knightsoftheroundel.com. Within a few hours of doing so, all modifications I did simply vanished! (Yes, I thoroughly saved all changes and checked that all appeared as I wished before logging out). Returning from lunch, all references to http://www.knightsoftheroundel.com completely vanished.
This is more proof that bimmerfest.commercial is infested with anxieties of corporate sponsorship who are all clearly incapable of competitive tolerances from any source, which is not what we are here to do in the first instance. The smoke & mirrors at bimmerfest.commercial are exposed, except we are the ones who blew the smoke away and left the mirrors behind exposing its ugly face.
Yup, mine is gone also. Gone from the sig and location.
Interesting.

Well this says a lot.
The mods a BFC are selectively censoring threads. Why is it that this stupid thread lingers for days and it is not even in the correct forum. :throw:
Why is it the mods delete/close threads at will that do not align with their views but continue to let others attack the 6'er forum cart blanche? :finger:
Now the only 6'er owners left on the BFC forum are in a wasteland of adolescence. :saber:
