"Rated" by Chrysler at 385hp. I'll bet that engine, bone stock, makes nearly 1 hp per cube, and 500+ lb/ft. of torque. :race:
Nice! Does yours have the 440? I thought I remembered they used Mopar power.
Yes, mine has its original 440 Six Pack engine originally rated at 385 bhp (Jensen lost 5 bhp from the 390 that Chrysler quoted because of their restrictive exhaust system). The SP was the most powerful and fastest Jensen ever made. There were only 13 LHD Jensen SP (for the Six Pack engine) models ever made and mine is the 5th of the 13. My car was shown at the 1972 Zurich auto show by its original owner, a Swiss corporation.
Photos of the (dirty!) engine bay will appear on my site soon.

Well since I'm an :old: I was around when these were new. In 1969 when the 440 Six-Pack was introduced the 426 Hemi was the King of the Hill (and rightly so  )making 425 bhp (claimed) and it was surmised that Chrysler didn't want to have a wedge head engine making as much advertised horsepower as the Hemi --- kind of like :bmw: not wanting the 2001-02 M-coupe to be advertised as faster than the M3. What can I say? Marketing types suck. :youbet: Anyway, 440 Six-pack equipped cars were known to beat Hemis at the drags often enough to be interesting; they usually would beat the Hemi off the line due to the higher torque of the 440. With the relatively mild cam that the Six-Pack had (264 intake; 276 exhaust) and "only" 1350 cfm of carburetion I doubt that they made 440 bhp, but I wouldn't be surprised at an honest 400.
Is it fun to drive? Oh Yeah! :race:
Here's my newest addition to the family.
SIKE! :youbet:

I think it's basically to squash those unwashed "trunk-scratching", thread closing, people banning, sellout peasants...
