Any of you wish that your 6er didn't have the throttle lag? I just got a device module that is truly plug-in-play that eliminates the throttle lag. I've been having a blast with it for the past week. Here is my review that I posted on e60.net.

Get it Alex. It's worth it. The throttle response is amazing. I'm going to do another timed run tomorrow after work.

Here is a great example of the Sprintbooster in action. On my way to work today I exit off the main highway onto another road which crosses over the highway. The exit ramp has a short merge into the road/bridge. I need to slow down into 2nd gear as I approach the merge and check the traffic over my left shoulder. If there's enough space, I bury the throttle to merge. Well, this morning 2nd gear planted me in my seat and the rpms went up real fast. What I've noticed since yesterday is that my rpms climb quick compared to pre-Sprintbooster.

All right, I've had the Sprintbooster on for two days now. Everything isn't rosy. I thought that it would help me achieve a faster timed run. I attempted to use my Launch Control (LC) last night but it didn't work. The LC was just working last week. I'm certain the Sprintbooster is the culprit, but I'm not too bummed about it. Doing timed runs these days are few and far inbetween. The next issue is parking. You have to really be careful or else you can end up hitting another car, curb, or pole. The throttle is crazy sensitive. Overall, I love the Sprintbooster and the immediate delivery of power. twoup.gif

I overlooked one thing. I have SMG and like driving with the Sport button engaged all the time. It certainly contributed to the sensitivity of the throttle. If I disengage the Sport button, the throttle response is lessened but still far better than stock. Now, for those with Step it's like driving in DS mode with the SB. What you really have to pay attention to is REVERSE with the SB. If you don't modulate the throttle backing up, there is a high likelihood of hitting something behind you.

If any of the Socal 6ers are attending the Malibu Meet and Greet on July 14th I will let anyone interested in the Sprint Booster try it out. It's a 5 minute plug-in-play install. My buddy will be trying my Sprint Booster out on his M5 tomorrow. I'll let you all know his impressions of it later this week.

I'm just wondering about the reasons why car makers are 'delaying' the throttle signal so a market can develop for such thingies...

Not everyone that buys a BMW is an enthusiast like you or I. We know our cars intimately. Most people that buy BMWs are badge whores. They'll complain that the car is too cat-quick in acceleration. After driving around with the Sprint Booster for a week I know why BMW intentionally put in the throttle lag. If not for the lag, can you imagine how many accidents will happen? I can see them rear-ending someone or while backing out hitting something. I really have to be careful when reversing the car or parallel parking. Don't want to damage my nice wheels. ;)

I don't know about any of the other Bimmers you have but it will work on your M5. My buddy is going to try my Sprint Booster out tomorrow for a few days in his M5.

If you're going to the Malibu Meet on July 14th, you can try it out for yourself and come to your own conclusions whether it is a worthwhile mod. ;)

Will it work if you don't shift manually and have the adaptive seats?

Well guys I got it and installed it myself(so easy, 2 min) and the verdict is.................it works big time, there is a big difference in throttle response. For the $245 you really are getting something that does what it says. I noticed a difference immediately no BS. I was very very skeptical but now that I see it works I am going to get another for my M3 for sure.
