Do I not have something turned on correctly?

Dave, if this is what you mean: for example, in this forum (Forum and Site Maintenance) you can click on the "Whaddya Think" topic up at the top. That will basically back you up 1 level to the F&SM forum where you can see all the threads for that one. Think of the "Board Index <Forum<Thread" as the tree structure - clicking on any one gives you the associated items in that level.

Maybe this is more clear. On at least three other board software packages I have used once you are in a forum with two or more topics there is usually two directions you can navigate without having to go back to the forum topic list. Those two directions are normally newer or older threads.

At the bottom right side of every screen is a "Jump To" pull down menu. Have you tried that?

Yep, but that takes me to a different forum.
Hmmm, how do I explain this. This thread is in Whaddya Think? forum. I go to this thread, I read and then I want to go to the next thread within the Whaddya Think forum. Here I can only get there by going back to the forum main heading and then select another thread (several ways back including Jump). Most forums I've been on allows you to simply go forward or backwards within the same forum to newer or older threads. Look at the 'fest or E60.net for samples of two different board software.

Wow, thats a feature I have to admit I have never used. Especially when I don't know if there are any new or relevant posts in the "next thread". I always take myself back to the thread listing and look for the 4 or 5 new ones since my last visit. And I only delve into those if the topic is of interest to me.
But you're right. Its a feature that's not there.

I'm gonna try to do something as an experiment for two purposes. 1) to see if I can show some via pic what I mean just to clear (Never now knows) and 2) see if I can trick the system by posting an attachment in a forum that allows it and then move it to this forum. Here I go.

Well that did not work as attachments is not working properly probably due to a limitation in server space.
BUT, we do have a sample on our very own board.
Anybody with two or more PMs go there and you will see "Next PM" on the right and "Previous PM" on the left (might have the word "history" added if these are all PMs previously viewed). Would think that should be available for threads within a forum.

Its basically this. Immediately underneath this post, on bimmerfest, you would see this, centered on the page:
<< previous thread | next thread >>
So basically you hit the last post on the page, and you can hop to the next topic in the same forum. Versus going back and looking at the topic list and picking one that way.

Yep, that is what we want BUT, according to folks over on phpbb.com this not currently available. Oh well. :bang: Something to look forward to.
And I thought I was the only one looking hard for that feature.
Good conversation though.
